Hi Curtis.

My name is Ayad. I am from Pakistan.

I stumbled across your site because I am trying to make my first website and was looking to have a cartoon logo of a crocodile designed.
Or more to the point, I was looking to design it myself with some online program/advice.

I read through your story which you have so generously shared and found it very inspirational. That is exactly what I want to do: be paid to do what I love.

I would love to stay in touch as I am sure I could benefit from your online experience. I would also eventually like my website to make money and would appreciate any advice you could give me. Incidentally it is to be a movie review website.

Please reply back as I would really like to keep in touch.

Hi Ayad,

Great to hear from you! The best way to do a cartoon logo is to draw it on paper as good as you can and then scan it into a program like Photoshop. From there you can clean it up, color it and save it as a web safe file. Send me an email with ant other questions.

Hi Curtis! I really enjoy visiting your sites and reading your cartooning tips. I may not be at the same level as your creativity, but you inspire me to do better. On your bio page, there is a photo of yourself drawing. Do you use a light table to clean up your drawings?

Hey Doug, thanks for dropping by! I’ve been on a hiatus for a long period and have not been doing much cartooning lately. I do use a small light box, it’s great for cleaning up and making changes on a drawing. I use it to overlay multiple drawings to create one. Good luck with the career! I’ll check out your website.
